Another month goes by - and only a few weeks to go before "WE'RE OFF"

Rotary International District Assembly passed off superbly on 11th May - great team effort by all of those involved in supporting the 63 clubs in our District - nice atmosphere and seemingly well-received from the feedback we've had.  We have some exciting plans during the coming Rotary year and it's good to find our members in good spirits.

My club visit count has now reached 60 - just 3 more to go before I start my "official" visits on 1 July.  During the last month I've been to Burford & Windrush Valley, Hungerford, Bracknell and Haddenham - all super clubs and great people.

Been a busy month since I last updated you here (although you can get more frequent updates by following me on Twitter @JohnCGreening).  My wife Joan has had three plays premiering during the month - "Life Imitating Art" - a two-hander at the Pump House Theatre, Watford; "Mistresses", at the Theatre on the Steps, Bridgnorth (now touring) and "DIY" which had it's world amateur premiere by the Pepperpot Players in Upton upon Severn last week.  So a few miiles racked up there - but all terrific shows and well received by their audiences.

Tinges of disappointment in other news - the RC Elthorne-Hillingdon darts team were defeated in the semi-finals of the District 1090 darts competition - guess we might have to resort to practicising at some point next year!  And on Monday 27th May we watched Watford FC narrowly beaten by Crystal Palace in the Championship play-off final at Wembley - in truth a poor game settled by a played-for penalty which looked the only way either team would score!

Onwards & upwards!!
