Last time I wrote was in the aftermath of my momentous birthday party. Shortly afterwards I suffered a diary/contacts meltdown - finally cutting the electronic ties with my erstwhile supplier/employer/client comveniently removed all of my diary and contacts. I do not recommend this!! Happily I managed to retrieve (almost) everything thanks to a couple of clever pieces of software to suck things out of one's phone. Think I'm almost back to normal - haven't missed any meetings (yet) and haven't noticed anyone's details missing (famous last words). It was, however, a fairly time-consuming distraction!
Mostly over the last couple of weeks I've been getting ready for the "big do" - our District's annual Assembly, where those of us supporting the wonderful work of the 63 clubs in our District set out our stall of the ways in which we plan to help them and some directional suggestions from us as the new teams get ready to take up office in their own clubs (in Rotary we change the President and "management team" of each club & District every year on 1 July). And our District Assembly is this Saturday 11 May - think I'm just about ready - expecting about 250 people.
Been to a few more clubs in the District recently, my latest visit yesterday to Rotary Club of Reading takes my tally up to 56, just 7 more to go to complete the set before we go round again from July 1!
